Normally, my answer is NO. I know you will be surprised that I said NO.
My answer is not for the talented, extraordinary young people; my answer is for the common young people who are suffering to learn something and try to grow their skills. But they can’t.

If Web Development were easy, then everyone could learn easily. But if 100 people try to learn Web Development, you will see that 20% can succeed and 5% will work in this field for a long time.

If you are a common person, you have a lot of issues that you need to manage, like study, family, friends, personal work, and many other things that I can’t fully explain. If you are really like a person who is already struggling in your life, then you will admit my answer.

But still, you can learn web development in just 3 months. And it will be easy if you really enjoy coding. But the problem is that coding will not be enjoyable for the first time for most people. Also, if you are overly passionate and if you can work harder than someone expects, and you are hungry to learn Web Development, then it’s possible. But there is a chance it will affect your health, you could become depressed, and you will face a lot of issues. But if you overcome those issues and work on your mission, you can definitely do it.
Let me clarify the easy way: If someone spends 6-8 hours daily learning web development for 6 months, then what do you need to do?
You need to spend more than 12 hours daily to learn Web Development.
It’s definitely possible, but not for many people. So my answer is NO for common people.

Let me explain more about why it’s not possible and how you can make it possible.

Table of Contents

Time Limitation

Most people can’t learn any skills because of time limitations. Every single day, they face a lot of problems: they have a job to work, family issues, studying, going to college or university, important ceremonies to attend, health issues, etc. It’s difficult to work on skills consistently with all those issues. Most young people can’t focus on that, and I think it’s really common. Because for web development, you need a fresh mind and a peaceful place where you can learn properly.

But definitely, if you really want to be a web developer, you can create a specific time schedule and stick to learning web development during that time. In your life, whatever the situation, you will learn every single day during that time. You don’t need to learn at one specific time. You can make a schedule for the morning, evening, or night. But when you sit down, please learn with focus and dedication. Then the time limitation issue will be fixed, and your learning growth will increase super fast.

Lack of Focus

I think this is the problem that 90% of people face in their lives. Focus is really important. Without focus, you can’t achieve your goal. Without focus, you can’t understand anything about web development. Even if you learn with proper focus, you will still struggle to understand the concepts, code, and how it works, etc.

You have to be a 100% focused web development student to learn development. You need to be hungry to learn web development. If you spend a little time but with focus, it will be easier and faster to learn web development. So, focus is one of the most important keys to being a successful web developer.

Resource Management

The truth is, internet resources are not an issue. Because you will get millions of resources about web development, including this website. But the problem is, there are millions of resources on the internet about web development. So, for a beginner, it will be time-consuming to find the best resource. And if you select the wrong resource and start learning, only to realize after a month that you are doing the wrong thing, trust me, it will be really frustrating for you. Also, there are many outdated resources that basically don’t work anymore due to technology updates. And many people provide courses with high-level, engaging marketing, and most young people just buy the course without any research. So, after buying the course and learning, they basically aren’t learning anything, and they really don’t understand what is going wrong. So, finding the best resource and using it properly is one of the most important skills for a web developer. You need to learn this. Without that, you can’t be a web developer even after a year.

I recommend you join the most popular trusted communities like Stack Overflow, Medium, etc. Also, if you are using social media, you can join the groups of the most successful and trusted people who share tips, tricks, and answer questions in the group. Also, to get a structure for web development learning, you can explore FreeCodeCamp, W3Schools, Codecademy, etc. You can use YouTube to find the best channels where everything is organized in playlists for learning. Start networking with experts in the web development field. They will suggest the best ways to learn web development. But be smart—don’t trust anyone blindly. If you check, most of the experts’ suggestions will be the same. So, start your journey with the best resources first. When you face issues with the code, concepts, or work, learning will become more interesting. Remember, in web development, if you face more issues with the code, that means you are learning more things.

Unrealistic Expectations

I think most young people come into the web development field with a lot of expectations, like they will learn web development in just 3 months and then earn a lot of money, travel, and buy anything they want. But when they see that their progress is not fulfilling their expectations, they get demotivated and frustrated, and finally stop learning. I’ll just say one thing: if earning money and skill development were really easy, then why have most people failed, and why haven’t others learned it? Always remember, the best things come from stepping out of your comfort zone and also through hard work, dedication, focus, and consistency.

You can set small goals for your web development journey, and after each small goal is fulfilled, you can enjoy your success. Break your larger goal into smaller tasks, work on each one specifically, and when your goal is achieved, celebrate it by giving yourself a small gift.

Physical and Mental Health

I think this is one of the most important things that experts don’t say to beginners. Let me explain it clearly. For example, if you are working really hard with dedication, focus, and consistency, but extra hard work means extra pressure. Maybe you are not getting enough sleep every day. If your health can’t afford it, then how will you work? Like, if you work really hard for 10 days and have completed 30% of your web development journey, but then you get very sick, get admitted to the hospital, and need to spend 1 month there—how will that be? Very frustrating, right?

In this type of situation, I highly recommend that you don’t put too much pressure on your health. Because if you work hard while pressuring your physical and mental health, you may still succeed, but it might take 1-2 months longer. That’s it.

Also, physical and mental health are very important for learning anything. If your health isn’t working properly and you’re not feeling well, then how will you work, and how can you learn anything? So, I recommend you focus on your health. Sleep properly every day and try to get at least 6-7 hours of sleep at night (it depends on personal health), eat healthy food, work out with physical exercise, do yoga if possible, and, most importantly, don’t use social media too much. It can really harm your mental health and destroy your beautiful sleep. Work on these things, and then you will see how your productivity will increase, and you will enjoy learning something like web development.

Support System

I think this is another thing that people ignore. When their journey starts and they face issues that they can’t solve without support, they just stop learning. Support is very important for web development. Because to learn web development, every single day you will face a lot of issues, and you can’t fix everything from the internet due to the lack of expertise in the field. So for this, you need a mentor who will support you, motivate you, and assist you when you face issues with your code.

But you can easily fix these issues if you are a smart person. Join web development-related online communities, Discord groups, or coding bootcamps. Also, try to meet up with expert people, connect with them, build a good relationship, and share your issues. But this way, you may not get instant help because they are really busy people. You can also connect with dedicated people who are also learning web development. Make a group and help each other when anyone faces issues.

If those things are difficult for you, I recommend buying an authentic, trusted, advanced, and recommended course (either online or offline) and make sure their support system is top-level. You will get instant help when you face any issues. So, I think buying a course will be a simple solution if you don’t want to make it complicated. But today or tomorrow, you need to do other things I mentioned, because course mentors won’t support you for a lifetime.

Different Types of Learning

If you start learning web development, you’ll notice everyone has their own learning style. If your style doesn’t match the resources or platforms, learning can become difficult. For example, if you prefer learning through documentation, you might not enjoy video resources. So, it’s important to match your learning style with the resources you use.

However, I believe web development can feel boring in the beginning, so it’s helpful to use both video and text-based resources. But you should choose one style to avoid frustration, as switching between styles can just make things more confusing.

When you start a course, first check the course details, free modules, and YouTube videos to get a sense of the teaching style. If it’s easy to understand and enjoyable, you can proceed. Make sure the style gives you confidence that this resource will be a good fit for your web development journey.

Technical Difficulties

For learning web development, you need to have a standard level of technical knowledge. For example, if you don’t know how to install an app or how to type code, then I think you should start by learning basic computer skills first. Don’t come to web development thinking that just knowing how to code will make you rich—that’s totally the wrong idea. If you encounter issues with your code editor, you need to know how to fix them, and you should be able to solve many problems with help from the internet.

I recommend you become an expert in basic technical knowledge, including how to use the internet properly, how to solve issues with online resources, troubleshooting, debugging code, understanding concepts, and using AI prompts as well. Then, your journey will be much smoother.

Inconsistent Practice

I think most young people stop learning because of consistency issues. They learn for 7 days consistently, then go on a trip for 3 days, and then return. This way, no one can become a web developer. Trust me, it really negatively affects your progress. It will destroy your focus and decrease your hunger for learning web development. People make this mistake with every skill they try to learn. So, this is one of the most common problems for beginners trying to learn web development.

You should learn web development every single day. Don’t miss any day unless there’s a big problem. Even if you can’t, I recommend practicing at least one hour of web development. Consistency is the key. Even I have struggled with consistency while learning web development. If you miss just one day, your progress will slow down. So, don’t miss any day. For 3 or 6 months, you need to stay committed, control your mind, and focus solely on web development.

Fear of Not Succeeding

Another issue that beginners face is that they decide to learn web development and start off very well. But when the topics get harder and they face issues or don’t understand things properly, they think they can’t understand it and that they can’t become a web developer. They think everything is too difficult, and they get demotivated every single day when they face issues. This way, their confidence decreases, and after some time, they just quit the journey.

Don’t do this. You should work hard to understand anything. If you don’t understand it the first time, try to approach it in a different way. Research the same topic on Google or YouTube—you’ll get a better idea, and you’ll understand it. If you still don’t understand (which is unlikely), then move on to the next topic. But please don’t stop learning. When you try to understand something and even if you do your best but can’t get it, and then move on to the next topic, trust me, you will understand the previous topic much better later on. I’m saying this from experience. So, you should not stop your journey—work hard with focus and dedication in web development.

Updating Technology

Updating technology is an issue that even expert web developers face. To make tools, code, and websites better, they are updated regularly. But beginners often make a mistake here—they start learning with old resources or courses and try to solve issues using outdated methods. This way, they can’t learn the latest techniques or solve modern issues. Eventually, they get frustrated, depressed, and stop, telling themselves that they can’t succeed.

So, you need to be smart and stay updated. Always explore web development-related trends, online communities, and updated online courses, documents, and videos. This way, you can easily understand the latest changes and updates. It won’t be a big problem if you learn web development from an updated online course, but make sure the course is authentic, trusted, advanced, and well-loved by others. The best mentors will always teach you the most current version.

So, from the explanation above, I think you now understand why I said “NO” to learning web development in just 3 months. But I also explained that you can become a web developer in just 3 months, but there are a lot of things you need to consider and work on consistently for at least 12-15 hours a day, which is not possible for most people. Even I don’t recommend setting a goal to become a web developer in 3 months. It should be at least 6 months.

So, I hope you understand how you should plan to learn web development and how your goals should be specified. Hopefully, you will become a solid web developer in the next 6 months. Start your web development journey today. Best of luck. Thanks.
